- Q and A -

What brought you to the supply chain management industry?
Call it luck mixed with some ambition. Logistics has always been something I wanted to get into. I graduated with a degree in Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations. Global commerce is something that has fascinated me for a long time, and marketing has been my passion. When I found out about the opportunity with Aspen’s Marketing Department I knew that I had found my niche. The industry is always changing and offering new challenges, which is great. Having the opportunity to market a “Great” logistics company is all the better.

What brought you to Aspen?
Aspen is company that pays attention to detail, and is customer service driven. With my background in both the automotive and telecom world I understand what it takes to be number one in a demanding customer service market. I feel that Aspen has it all. They are able to surpass their customer’s goals and drive their initiatives. It makes my job a lot easier to market a product that just makes sense on all levels.

What is Aspen’s marketing strategy?
It’s important for us to keep our message clear, concise and communicated across as many media channels as possible. Most of our new business is through referrals, which says a lot about how great our services are, but it doesn’t allow us to reach all of those we should. Our services and products are fantastic, but it’s the challenge of getting people familiar within an industry that doesn’t have much precedence in marketing itself; this is our biggest hurdle. Not many third party logistics carriers are household names, nor will they ever be, but we should be the first place that any Logistics VP, Director, or Manager looks when they want a best-in-class solution.

What do you like best about working for Aspen?
I think the focus of this company is great. It seems like every individual is driven to satisfy our customers. There is one goal around here above all others, and that is to be the best.

What do you like best about your position?
I like the creative aspect. It’s great to get to know my fellow employees and how their individual departments run. I like figuring out how to bring their attributes to the spot light. These people work hard; it’s my job to let everybody know it.
