History
Aspen is a logistics company providing supply chain services in the areas of warehousing, distribution, transportation and value-added services.
Aspen’s inception began in 1978 with warehouse operations in Salt Lake City, Utah when it acquired the assets and business of Wycoff Warehouse Company. In 1981, Dan Sample, Owner and President, expanded Aspen’s service offering to an asset-based transportation company which serviced the local Salt Lake market and grew to handle the entire inter-mountain region for its customer base. Throughout the 80’s Aspen continued its growth in Utah to be one of the top logistics leaders in its market.
Through our humble beginnings, Aspen expanded in the early 90’s into the California market with value-added services in Copacking, Plant Support and IT services. In 2000, Connie Anderson, the second generation of family, became President of the Aspen organization. This was done strategically to transition succession of the Aspen reign. As a team, Dan and Connie’s aggressive sales approach and philosophy on service provided more opportunities in 2002 with an invitation to enter the Columbus, Ohio market with all service offerings to an existing customer.

2002 Connie Anderson Becomes President/Owner of Aspen
Soon after taking over the company, Connie quickly separated Aspen into the three different service divisions listed below. This allowed scalpel-like precision in finding improvement opportunities in all of Aspen’s core competencies. The result is the well oiled organization which we have today.

In 2006, Dan became fully retired but continues to “keep in touch” with the business that he embraced for so many years. Connie, now President and Owner, continues the legacy that her father started and continues to build upon its foundation. For the benefit of our many customers who need supplier diversity, Aspen was certified as a Women-Owned company in May 2008 through the Women’s Business Enterprise Council.

2008 Aspen is certified as a Minority Owned Business
At the start of 2010 Aspen’s three divisions were brought back together as one organization, officially named Aspen Logistics, Inc. With the company rapidly expanding, the focus was to maintain direct communications, collaboration, and the intimate relationships that they shared with their customers. The result is a company that performs the solutions of a large 3PL, but maintains the values of a small organization.
Both Dan Sample and Connie Anderson have always put total customer satisfaction as the primary focus of the organization. By demonstrating flexibility and proactive, innovative thinking, we have been successful in outpacing competition and keeping in step with customers committed to excellence.
Our vision is to be a “go-to” provider offering unmatched quality, service and value. We don’t need to be the biggest but we want to be the best. Our “best in class” mission provides integrated solutions that are customer-focused and cost effective. Our lifestyle of continuous improvement ensures our goal to be best. |
