Letter from the President

It’s a tremendous honor to continue the legacy that my father started over 30 years ago. Aspen has always worked hard to make the Customer First by providing value through personal customer service, commitment to go above and beyond, to technology solutions that provide competitive advantage. Our Aspen family wants to provide the service that our customers expect because it’s the right thing to do. Service is our only product. We know we don't always do everything right but we continuously work and strive for Best in Class results.

We’ve done that starting with our relations with our associates. Our goal to be Employer of Choice requires a commitment to corporate citizenship. We know that our associate foundation is key to our success. We would not be where we are without the efforts of all our associates each day. Our commitment to standards, healthcare, development, and competitive wages are combined in creating opportunities for all our diverse workforce.

But SERVICE in our business is an ongoing target. It changes from year to year. What 10 years ago was considered value-added, is now the norm. With the everchanging service metrics, now customers are expecting new standards in our corporate responsibility to the environment and community. The forces in these areas are new and changing but we must educate ourselves and determine how we approach them in our normal daily approaches to our business. We realize that small steps can make significant changes. We realize that change is the only constant in our business.

Aspen serves the entire western region from Denver to California and all points in between with strategically placed operations and transfer points in Utah, California, Arizona and the Pacific Northwest. Our distribution centers offer a myriad of services ranging from the normal to value-added within dry and temp-control buildings. No matter what the product is within our buildings our facilities shine. Our facility in Ohio also provides us a presence to handle Midwest and Eastern region requirements based on what our customers need.

Our transportation delivers into all areas of the western region in less-than-truckload and truckload quantities. Our growth steadily builds each year as we expand our network of coverage for our customers through our warehouse sites and transfer points. Our service is handled with asset and non-asset based equipment, however, we take full responsibility of the deliveries from when it leaves our facility to its end destination. This provides our customer with one point of contact from start to finish.

We are proud that we are a family-run business. We know that we can provide each customer with the business approach of a big company yet the service approach of small company – the best of both worlds! Our values support the company service culture that we are proud of and we believe it differentiates us from other companies within our industry. Being authentic and audacious allows us to provide valuable input to our customers in an effort to raise the bar in the supply chain.
