Vendor Compliance
Every industry has its own challenges and service expectations. In an effort to add efficiencies many companies require manufacturers to comply with rules, regulations and standards. These expectations can be in technology or labeling or delivery service or packaging, etc. As a service provider, it is our responsibility to understand the compliance rules that we control and ensure they are executed properly. Any deficiency in our service may result in fines and fees to our customers. We do everything we can to ensure that those are at a minimum.
The retail industry has specific compliance needs for a logistics provider. At Aspen we review each Routing Guide that is provided by many retailers that allows us to ensure that our logistics practices match up to the needs of the compliance documents. Our internal processes are controlled and specifically address the needs of each retailer. These processes include associate notifications during the order processing period; specific product handling; specialized labeling for the retailer; routing and delivery guidelines. But most importantly, the periodic follow up to the retailer to ensure delivery was done as requested. Our on-site meetings with retailers allow us to determine improvement opportunities. It also allows us to communicate back to our customer with feedback from their valuable customer.
This approach in the retail industry is used similarly in other industries that we support and service. We not only want to understand our customer’s needs but their customer’s needs. |
